Description

Ingredients

  • For the Fruit Filling:

    • 3 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
    • 2 cups fresh blueberries
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • For the Topping:

    • 1 cup rolled oats
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine apples, blueberries, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread the fruit mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and blend with a pastry cutter or fingers until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit mixture.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
  • Substitute fresh blueberries with frozen ones (thawed and drained).
