- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. Reserve a handful for garnish.
- In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Slice the angel food cake horizontally into three layers.
- Spread a layer of whipped cream on the bottom cake layer, followed by sliced strawberries. Repeat with the second layer.
- Place the top layer and cover with whipped cream. Arrange reserved strawberries and mint leaves for garnish.
- Chill the dessert for at least an hour before serving.
