  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  • Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. Reserve a handful for garnish.
  • In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Slice the angel food cake horizontally into three layers.
  • Spread a layer of whipped cream on the bottom cake layer, followed by sliced strawberries. Repeat with the second layer.
  • Place the top layer and cover with whipped cream. Arrange reserved strawberries and mint leaves for garnish.
  • Chill the dessert for at least an hour before serving.
