Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips
- ½ cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate.
- Sift the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt into the wet ingredients. Fold gently until just combined.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter, then top with the remaining batter. Swirl the caramel with a toothpick.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing. Serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
- For a salted caramel twist, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
