Description

These rich, gooey caramel brownies are the ultimate treat! With a fudgy chocolate base and buttery caramel swirls, they’re perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate.
  • Sift the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt into the wet ingredients. Fold gently until just combined.
  • Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter, then top with the remaining batter. Swirl the caramel with a toothpick.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing. Serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

  • For a salted caramel twist, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
