Instructions

- In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
- Fold in oats, chocolate chunks, and pecans (if using).
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
